Banana Cinnamon Oatmeal

Growing up – and up until about a year ago –  I ate my oatmeal exactly one way: loaded with brown sugar.  But when my son began eating solid foods, I wanted to find a healthier way to prepare oatmeal that is still delicious.  After some trial and error, I finally came up with a recipe that my toddler (and even my husband) loves!  And the best part is that it contains no added sugar.  Try this one out with your kiddos and see what they think!

Banana Cinnamon Oatmeal

One ripe banana, mashed
1/2 C rolled oats
1 C milk (I use whole milk for my son and almond milk for myself – any milk will work!)
Generous sprinkle of cinnamon
Generous splash of vanilla


1.     Combine all ingredients in a large microwave-safe bowl
2.     Microwave for 2 minutes
3.     Enjoy!
